Mark your calendar for June the 19th, Christina Lake is having a Community Celebration! Homecoming 2010, tell everybody you know! Many local groups are banding together and we would we like to invite everyone who loves Christina Lake to join us.

If you live at Christina Lake invite your family and friends who were raised here and who have moved away to travel "home" and reconnect. If you know a family or a group that visits in the summer from out of town, pick up the phone and give them a call!

When you arrive look for the Community Futures Table where you can register to WIN A VACATION PACKAGE FOR TWO!

All events are at the Christina Lake Community Hall unless otherwise mentioned, times are subject to change. There are more events and groups participating that are yet to be confirmed.

9-11am: Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast, Breakfast served by donation, Christina Lake Chamber of Commerce

10-3pm: Art Show & Sale, Christina Lake Arts and Artisan Society, Father’s Day Gifts and more; woodcarvings, photographs, paintings, cards, knitting, quilts, birdfeeders & raffles.

10-3pm: Painting Display and Historical Photo Exhibit, A collection of work by the children of Christina Lake Elementary School, Old Photographs of Christina Lake landscape and people, Paintings by local artists, Christina Lake Group of Seven Art Club, Wall Hangings and Quilts by the Moody Creek Quilters and the Boundary Health Care Auxiliaries.

1pm: Buck Naked and the Saddle Tramps- Unplugged Live Music

1-5pm: Welcome Center Tour on Kimura Rd. and Hwy 3, Solar Aquatics System, Christina Lake Stewardship Society, Arts and Artisan Society and the Seniors Housing Group will all be there. At 3 pm there will be a Totem Pole rasing ceremony.

1-5pm: Social and Recreational Activities, Take some free time to play games and recreate, get out and play! Meet your old friends and new neighbors! Enjoy any activity you choose; bike, swim, run, climb, soccer, tennis, golf, lawn bowling, horseshoes, volleyball, baseball, crib or bridge.

5-10pm: Licensed Bar, Community Hall Association

5pm: Les Folles Jambette- Can-Can Dancers perform to open the evening.

5:30-7:30pm: BBQ & Community Potluck hosted by the Christina Lake Fire Department, Sorority and Ladies Auxiliary Comm. Assoc.

BBQ- Free Hamburgers and Hotdogs, donations to support Christina Lake Fire Department
POTLUCK- Bring your favorite dish to share; salad, casserole, lasagna, dessert, juices etc.
MAKE LESS WASTE- Bring your own plates, cups and cutlery and a lawn chair if you enjoy sitting outside. There will be dishes, tables and chairs inside the Community Hall too.

7pm: Guest Speakers- hosted by Grace McGregor, Homecoming piano performance by Sheri Grenier.

7:30pm: Steve and Doreen Cavill - Easy Listening Country, Rock & Roll, Elvis Presley, George Strait, Patsy Cline, Olivia Newton John, Leann Rimes etc.

8:30pm: The Hip Sisters- Middle Eastern Dance

9-11pm: Dave Jackson- Dance Music


This is a free casual event and everyone is invited to join the celebration. Please support your local clubs and organizations with donations and by purchasing raffle tickets etc. Please help to spread the word to people who love visiting Christina Lake and those who have moved away from the lake and invite them back for the day.
